I still haven't looked into finding a pediatrician for our LO and think it's about time that I get on this. We're in Mt. Laurel, so I'm looking for a dr. that isn't too far from here. Where do you go? Why do you love them?
I live in Mt. Laurel. We go to Advocare. I initially picked them b/c they are local and have good hours.I went there and met with one doctor and liked them automatically. I like the fact that they have a call in line. Every morning between 8 and 9am, the doctors actually answer the phones themselves so if you have any questions they will answer them for you. I've called a couple times during those hours and also once during non-working hours. They paged a doctor immediately and they called me back within a few minutes. They never make you feel stupid for asking a question. I never wait for more than 5 minutes when I have an appt. They also have offices in Cinnaminson and Lumberton so they can usually get you an appt. if you need one (at night, etc). I really like them.
i go to Atrium Pediatrics. They are just off rt 73 and rt 70, next to the big Barnes and Noble. i actually travel about 20-30 (depending on work traffic) for this office. they have a mix or older and younger docs so you get the great mix of years of experience from a few of the docs and other docs are young parents themselves so they can totally relate to you. they all take their time and i've never felt rushed. bonus is that the office is new (just recently reclocated) so it is completely clean and fun for the kids with bright/colorful murals in each room, etc. I highly recommend them!
I went to Advocare Greentree first and I was not pleased with them. The doctors in particular and I am not a hard to please person. The head doctor there got voted one of the best by parents in the area but every time I dealt with him he wouldn't let me talk or explain and he would just assume. He would hear me but not listen! He gave me potentially serious misinformation with my baby a couple of times, luckily I was smart enough to question him. The staff was always nice but I also got some bad advice from one of the other pediatricians regarding feeding/breastfeeding and it landed my baby in the hospital. I even consulted with a two lactation consultant from Virtua and went to a support group and ended up getting bad advice all around if you can believe it!
Still not over blaming myself...Anyway now I go to Cornerstone pediatircs in Haddonfield and they are great!! That practice was recommended by a very reliable mother of two who is friends with my cousin.
Dr. Bruner always listens and is patient and takes her time with you. I have heard the other drs are very good as well.
