I just found out my best friend's father passed away this morning. I haven't seen her in a couple years because she lives out of state, but I am going to go to the visitation. I don't really have any dressy clothes that fit me right now. Would it be okay for me to wear a new black cardigan I got for Christmas with a pair of black or charcoal cords and dress shoes and maybe some nicer jewelry to dress it up a bit, or is that inappropriate? I don't have any dresses or skirts and not sure I will have a chance to get out to buy something. I know my wardrobe is not important, but I don't want to come off as insensitive or inappropriate with a more casual outfit.
