Bridesmaid 2 Months After...

Hello all!  I hope everyone's Holiday Season is going well and that everyone is going into the New Year healthy!

My best friend is getting married two months after I am due, to the day actually, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for how to measure for a size in a dress.  If you have any ideas please help me!!  Thanks and Happy New Year!

  • 1)  You will more than likely be about 2 sizes bigger post PG than pre-PG.

    2) IF you are BF, your chest may increase incredibly (I was a B pre-DD1.  I am a DD while PG & BF).  Also nursing in a bridesmaid dress may be impossible.

    3) Buy a good girdle, get baby to take a bottle and have fun!

  • Get measured now.   You should be about 2 sizes larger than your regular dress size which should be just right for 2 months after.  I got measured at 16 weeks and was advised that with breastfeeding, my measurements should hold up.

  • I would order 2 sizes larger than your normal size..theres a good chance you'll have lost alot of the weight, but just in case or if you are bfing your boobs will be alot bigger!

This. And better to buy a too big dress - and have it altered if need be - than to buy a too small dress and risk them not having larger sizes as the big day approaches.

  • I'm in a wedding 5 months post-PG, so the bridal shop wants me to come in soon to order my dress and we will most likely order a size or two bigger than I am now.

I'm in a wedding 3 months afterwards so we are in a similar boat. When I was 13 or 14 weeks I tried on the dresses and figured out what my size was at that time and then I got a size bigger than that. The dress was already big for me so I think I did the right thing (hopefully). I will be wearing spanks too so I hope that helps with any problems I may have. I hope this helps!?!

  • My best friend and his fiance just moved their wedding up from August.....to June. That gives me one whopping month before the wedding. I'm buying bigger, and altering it down because it's easier to take it in than let it out.

  • I was in a wedding 3 months after DD was born.  I ordered my dress 2 sizes larger than normal and ended up spending a TON on alterations because I lost the baby weight (EBF'd).  But, better to be safe than sorry - If I didn't lose the weight I woulda been looking around for a bigger dress and probably woulda spent more.  The only problem I had at the wedding was trying to find a place to BF.  GL!
  • I am right there with ya!  I'm a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding one month after giving birth.  I bought my dress 2 sizes bigger and plan on getting some spanxs or something to help smooth me out.   Good Luck!
  • I am in a wedding 4 months after my LO arrives. I am going to order the next size up just to be safe. I tried on my regular size before I got a belly and that was a little big so I know I will have room to grow if I go up one size.

  • I'm in my brother's wedding a month after LO is due.  Luckily, the BM dresses are from J. Crew, so I was able to order 3 sizes just in case.  I can send 2 back when I know my size.
