First time mom ---
I'm 17 weeks pregnant and reading all of these ladies blogs who have already felt their baby move - especially flutters! I haven't had a single one (that I know of).
What will a flutter feel like??? I know the baby is moving because when I visit my OB and she listens to the heart beat, she can hear the baby moving and flipping around! She gets so excited but I want to be exicted too!!!!!
Re: Wishing I was feeling some movement!
I didn't really feel movement (or recognize it) until almost 18 weeks. The best way someone explained it to me is it feels like popcorn popping or even a muscle pull. I felt it mainly lower in my uterus and very infrequently.
Now it feels like he's doing flips in my stomach and pushing off of anything he can like a swimmer pushes off of a wall.
Don't worry-- I didn't feel my first movement until 17w5days and then it was a few random (what I now know were) kicks. I'm feeling them more regularly now and DH even felt a big kick on Sunday night.
If you are sitting after you eat you may feel them- mine tend to be the strongest then.

Sometimes it just takes time. Plus it depends on where your placenta is. Do you know where yours is? If you have an anterior placenta you may not feel the small stuff. I have an anterior placenta myself and never felt any of the flutters that so many people talk about. I went from feeling nothing to feeling full on kicks at 21 weeks, just like that.
They say the average time to feel the baby is around 20 weeks, regardless of placenta, so you may just be a few weeks away from feeling it. It's hard to be patient I know, but hang in there!
