If so, what exercises are you doing? Before PG, I ran for 2 1/2 miles, but once I got PG, I started walking on an incline. I feel like I'm not doing enough but I don't want to over do it.
I have cut back alot. Usually I do cardio 5 days/week 30 mins and it is usually walking or bike. I try to do higher impact cardio and I last about 15-20 mins, pushing it. I then switch over to the bike. I feel the same way, but I figure after this little girl is born, I will go back full intensity.
Once I found out I was pg, I switched from running to walking. I still walk 30 minutes a day, but find it difficult sometimes and end up turning the speed down. Once you get bigger walking alone will feel like enough.
I posted the same ? yesterday with a lot of great replies. I just got an Ipod for Christmas, so I am just getting back to doing the eliptical. I do 20 min a day (past 3 days at least!) at about 40 strides per minute. I exercised 45 min a day while losing weight last summer, but stopped about a month before getting PG.
I try to do the eliptical for about 25min 3 or 4 days a week....since the holidays I havn't gone as much but i want to get back to it....they say your labor is so much easier if you can keep a steady workout throughout your pregnancy.
I do 45 minutes of cardio and strength training afterwards about 5 days a week. It's what I did w/ DS and had a great recovery. Hoping it'll be the same this time too!
*Sigh* not nearly as much as I should. Before PG I was running 4 miles 6 days a week and now i'm just walking...1st tri really stuck it to me and it was hard to do ANYTHING! I'm hoping once LO is here to hit up the gym hard!
If you're used to running then keep it up! Walking on an incline won't be much of an exertion if you're used to jogging. A 20 minute run won't be overdoing it, just listen to your body, it will tell you whent to stop. I'm almost 24 weeks and can still do 3 mile runs, Zumba classes, 40 minutes of hardcore resistance and speed on the elliptical, etc. I haven't had to slow down anywhere except going from 6mph to 5.5mph on the treadmill.

Ooh, what strength training stuff do you do? I had a routine that I did religiously but then got freaked out about split abs, so I stopped and just do cardio 5xweek. I know the arms stuff and lunges/squats are fine but do you have any good core workouts?
I used to be super active before I got pg, and even though I'm still working out a little bit, I'm feeling like a sack of poo right now. I used to get up at 4:30 to go to the gym before work and I'm finding it harder and harder to have motivation to do that especially since it's cold out. If I don't make it to the gym, I ride my road bike on a trainer (which basically turns any bike into a stationary bike) in my basement. When I do get to the gym, I do some elliptical, light weights, some core work (planks mostly). If I really have motivation, I get to the gym with a pool and go swimming, which feels absolutely fabulous.

I still do 30-45 min of cardio about 4 times a week. Then weight training for about 30 min. Same routine as before I got pg, just lighter on some weights. I cut out my abs at 14 weeks as directed by my dr.

I went today and saw my trainer and she changed my routine to more reps and a lighter weight, eliptical, treadmill and bike are fine. She thinks I need to get in some yoga classes they over and water aerobics. So excited to get back into it!
I used to do running/walking intervals. Since 1st tri when my BB's hurt like h*ll, I've been power walking. I also lift weights, but have reduced the amt of weights and increased my reps. I like to do workout videos too. I just try to do standing abs instead of abs on my back.
If you were running before your BFP, they you usually can keep going.
I'm still running competitively. I just changed my pace and keep my long runs at 10 miles or less before walking.
I strength train 2-3 times a week, and also incorporate other forms of cardio & stretching into my routine (yoga, pilates, aqua aerobics, walking, xcountry skiing).
I always feel great after working out, so I'm plan to keep going as long as I can.
