Kind of a confusing situation and question

Ok so this lady I work with, Donna, has a son, Chris, who just got engaged to a girl, Amy.  Chris is really close with his 2 cousins and Amy bought them both a $50 gc to a restaurant plus bought their kids toys for Christmas. (which they are having this weekend)  Donna said she way over spent compared to what the cousins spent on her.  Donna wants to know if she should say something to her neices (the cousins) or if she should just leave it.  she doesnt want anyone to feel bad. what would you do?

TIA

Re: Kind of a confusing situation and question

  • Well, it's probably not proper etiquette to say anything.  But I, myself, would still want to know.  I hate giving a gift that is no where equal in comparison to the one I get.

  • What would she say to them?  "Quick.  Go buy more stuff for Amy."  ??
  • I would leave it alone.  I always think it's tacky to tell people what others spent on you or what you spent on them.   People buy/give gifts that they want to, you should'nt spend x amount because they spent x amount on you :)

If I even got the scenario right!

Right, I wouldn't say anything. Is this the first year Amy has bought for them, so maybe they didn't know how much she was going to spend too?

  • I wouldn't say anything, you aren't suppossed to give gifts expecting an equal amount of gifts back (it's nice I know..)
