If so, can you recommend the site and the sling? I'm trying to find one, but I'm so confused. There are so many different sites, sizes and styles, I don't know where to go from here.
I went to a local attachment parenting store and tried on all the different styles. The owner of the shop suggested waiting until LO was here to actually choose a style because babies differ in what style they prefer and it would be easier to figure out once s/he is here. I'll probably put a moby on my registry just to have something in the beginning but after that I'm going to go back to the shop and have the woman there help me.
I have a peanut shell that I liked with DS- I didn't use it with him as a newborn tho. I would wait until the baby is born and go try some on, the sizing with slings has to be right for it to be comfortable and easier to try with an actual baby!
Yes, a hotslings AP. Its adjustable, so you don't have to mess with sizes. I got one when they first came out with them, so I haven't checked the latest reviews. And this is my first, so I haven't been able to test it out yet. But its the cutest thing ever (Toyko pattern) and I know hotslings generally have great reviews.

I have bought Sprout Pouches for two of my friends and they've loved them. They can be worn several ways with babies from infant to toddler, they're reversible, and they make matching diaper bags. www.sproutpouch.com
We went through a lot of trial and error with DD (let's see...we've got a ring sling, a pouch sling, a mei tai, and a more structured front carrier). DH liked the mei tai when DD was a baby, I use it with her now as a toddler (my mom actually made it, if you or a family member is handy I guess it isn't hard to do). We both like the structured front carrier when she was a baby for going out (easiest to get on/off and her in/out of for us). The other two just sat in the closet. Do you have a place near you that sells them and does classes or lets you borrow them before you buy? I wish we had done that...
