Success after IF

Blackberry users, please come in.

I think I am going to get one today!

So, which model do you have? What are things that you love, hate about it?

Internet access is important to me as when I am a work, I can only use the computers for work related things ( usage is closely monitored).

Anything else you'd like to share would be great!

Thanks! :)

Re: Blackberry users, please come in.

  • I have been a crackberry addict for a few years now.  I am on my second model.  I have the World Edition in pretty RED.  :)

Overall I like it.  I have had very few problems with it.  I like the full keyboard.  But people complain that it gets a lot of background noise on the calls.

BUT right now I am super pissed at it.  I can't get to the whole internet on it all of a sudden.  So boooooo Blackberry (this week).  :)

  • I've got the Blackberry Curve 8350i (its the Curve with Direct-Connect) that I use for work.  I've got no complaints.  Now I can't imagine now having it!  I love having the access to email and internet!  I just wish it was a little more "tough" as I can be pretty rough on phones.

  • I switched to the curve and really like it. Had a first generation berry before and def am not a touch screen person. DH has the iphone and swears by it but not only is touch screen weird for me I hate AT&T service. Verizon is much better in my book.
  • I have the Blackberry Curve.  I got it after I stopped working and had Jacob.  It really helps me to be able to stay in touch when I can't get to the computer.  :)

  • I have the Blackberry Tour for work (Verizon).  The connection and graphics are great, but the battery stinks.  I don't use mine for a phone much, but for those who do, they have to charge it at least once a day.  From what I have heard, the techology of the device doesn't match the technology of the battery.
  • I have the 8900 and I love it. I went from a treo to blackberry and I was worried, because my treo was my bff! ;)

The only general complaint about blackberry would be the browser... but downloading Opera mini solves that issue!

eta: I use my bb constantly, IM, checking email, FB, internet, and even as a phone ( ;) ) and have no battery issues, I charge every other night or so....

  • If you're open to phones similar to Blackberries, my husband and several of his friends all swear by the iPhone and the Palm Pre.  My husband is seriously considering switching carriers (we have AT&T) just to get a Pre, he loves it so much.

I would love an iphone, but AT&T coverage is this area is terrible.  I have had friends have to get rid of theirs because they were always dropping/missing calls.

  • I have the Bold (AT&T) and love it.  I am able to surf the web (even post on the bump) on it and the interface is exactly like being on a pc (arrow pointer, magnifying glass to zoom when on the internet).  I am also able to open pictures and other attachments pretty quickly. FB and twitter also work well on it.

The one con is you have to make sure you exit out of apps or they will drain the battery.

  • I have the storm and I like some aspects of it.  It is great for internet, facebook etc.  I wish it had more apps like the I phone but whatever.  As an actual phone however......not so great.  It often has to think to accept a call and I end up missing it.  It is very frustrating to see someone is calling but not able to anawer the phone.
  • I have an older curve (pearl). Love it, but the battery life is horrible and the blue tooth connection is a pain.
