New Twin Mommas!

How is your DH reacting to the news?

Mine is excited but totally freaked out - he is an only child and has no baby experience at all.  He just keeps repeating "we will figure this all out, it will all be wonderful" over and over.

Poor guy!

  • butting in to say my DH would also freak out about twins, I'm sure!  I think it is a man's natural reaction!
  • DH and I have had many conversations on the subject. I think discussing it and freaking out is totally different than having it be a reality.

I secretly hope to have to deal with it, IRL.

Ditto this. We kinda want twins, but of course would be ecstatic with just one healthy LO. My H says he would be okay with twins, but would rather have just one at a time. Like negril says, I think if it actually does happen he will be just like your hubby LCB.

  • :butting in: ?My DH wants twins. ?I don't think he wants to go through this whole IF thing again, however, I will be just fine with one! ?I can't wait to hear more about your journey with twins!!!

  • My DH is excited - I am the one freaking out!

Right now I am ok about the financial aspect of it (maybe that part just hasn't sunk in yet, though) I am more scared about carrying two babies healthily. I'm really small framed. I don't know how two are going to grow and fit in there!!

  • My H is absolutely calm about it--not even a little bit shocked. I heard him gasp a little bit when two sacs showed up on the screen, but other than that, he just keeps asking ME how I'M feeling about the news. This is our way, though: I'm the worrier in our relationship, he is the reassurer.

This is completely and totally true... We thought twins would be so cool until we actually saw two sacs our first u/s and then we were sort of in an 'OMG what have we done!' daze. And terrible as it sounds, we were a tiny bit relieved when we only had one at the next u/s!

But I admit, I am so excited for all our new twin mommas... and a tiny bit jealous as well! Even though I am completely happy with one.

  • Holy crap L! Congratulations. That is awesome news!!!
  • Yay, twins!! I must have missed a post by you.  I am so happy for you.  To answer your question: elation, fear and shock. We both really go back and forth between both of them.  One is we hope this works out as it is still early.  Two, will we need a new house (currently in a 2 BR condo with 3 cats) and all the other space related questions, and wow, are we really this lucky!  It is a mash of all emotions.  Congrats again!!
