Anyone wrk 32hr/wk & get benefits

I am just curious how other employers are before I aproach my job to see about cutting down 8 hours a week.  Do any jobs still provide benefits for 32 hours?  How about vacation or PLT.  Thanks

  • I'm currently FT, but my company offers some benefits (at a higher rate) to any employees that work 24+ hours/wk.

  • My job does. I work in a small office. It was never an issue when I asked to come back only 4 days a week. I asked for Fridays off and she let me know that they will still pick up my benifits. My boss also factored in my vacation and PTO time based on a 32 hour work week. I get 96 hours PTO, 74.4 hours scik and 1 floating holiday (8 hours). GL!

  • I know fedex office considers anyone who averages more than 32 hours a week full time.

  • I work 27 hrs/wk for the federal gov't, and am eligible for benefits, PTO included.  It's on a prorated basis, so I pay for the gov't portion of our health benefits for the days I don't work.  I earn PTO on a prorated basis as well.

  • I work 30 hours/week and am eligible for benefits, get PTO, holidays, cell phone and mileage reimbursement, 401K, flex spending, etc.

  • I work 28 hours a week and have full benefits
  • Mine used to provide it to anyone working 24+ hours.  Now with budget cuts (university) there are changing that.  Not sure what the details are since it doesn't affect me.  Sorry I can't help with more info.

  • I work for a school system and  you get benefits if you work at least 20hrs/week.  You get prorated sick and personal leave, and since we are 10 month employees, no one gets paid vacation.

  • My company provides benefits as long as you work 24 hrs/wk. So when I first came back from mat leave, I only worked 3 days a week. I still earned PTO but at avreduced rate. Also I still got all paid holidays, regardless of what day they fell on...I now work 4 days a week, and it's perfect for me, every Friday off! My boss was very open, he was the one that first suggested it to me when I was pregnant. I'm an exec asst and have a lot of downtime, so it makes a lot of sense for me!

  • Also I still pay the same cost for insurance as if I worked 40 hrs/wk. Also I still get a cell phone, mileage, 401k and pension, and various other benefits. I love my job!!

  • Yep, benefits and PTO. My PTO accrues based on hours worked so, I just acrue less, but I also need less to get a full week off so it still works out to 4 weeks per year.
  • I get full benefits and work 20 hours a week. My employer can flex me up to a max of 30 hours a week - that rarely happens though.

I get full health care, 401K with match, and 5 weeks of PTO a year.
