Progesterine only pills?

I posted this on another board too:

I have been on them for two weeks and have noticed a decrease in the past week in my supply. I know they are not suppposed to affect your milk but i cant pinpoint any other culprit. I am also in a bad mood lately and emotion al. My boobs hurt more. Im stopping the pill today. Any thoughts? Anecdotes for me about your experience?

TIA

  • I have not started these pills yet, but I wanted to ask you how you know your supply has decreased. I think mine might decrease when I'm on my period, but I'm not sure how to tell.

  • well, i had an overabundance two weeks ago and for the last week or so its been cut down by half when i pump i can see it. I havent had to supplement yet but dd is feeding more often
  • It didn't affect me at all, but I have heard other women say it has as well.  I would call your OB and talk about other options.  Of course if you truly did have an oversupply it could also be that your supply has decreased because your DD doesn't need as much so the normal supply and demand is working.  That would have nothing to do with the pills and would just be a coincidence of timing.

  • It dropped my supply by half (my guess based on what I see).  I always had way over what I needed and was always leaking and the one time I pumped before I started the pill I got 4 oz in 4 minutes.  Now it takes like 20 minutes to get a couple oz.  I was also shooting milk across the room when I would start to let down.  None of that happens anymore.  You would think I would be happy and my son is still getting enough to eat without supplementing, but I only have just enough.  I can't stock up with a freezer stash or anything like I could before.
