My doctor said I could be having a chemical pregnancy. Hopefully I will get a true diagnosis on Tuesday. I would be 7 weeks 3 days today, isn't this a little late for a chemical pregnancy? My LMP was 11/6. If it is a chemical pregnancy, will I pass a sac? There was no sac seen on the u/s.
Re: Chemical Pregnancies
First of all, I'm very sorry that you are having to experience this. To answer your question, it has been my understanding that a chemical pregnancy usually happens in the 4th or 5th week of pregnancy. The egg does not implant correctly, and basically it is like you are getting your period late. My first loss was like this.
TTC #1 since 7/08 After 3 years, 2 losses, 3 rounds of IUI, and one round of IVF, we finally have our dream come true! DS born 7/30/11
TTC #2 off and on since 7/12
that seems awful late for a chemical pregnancy. Normally you'll get "AF" within a few days of your positive pregnancy test. I did and everyone I know that's had a CP did.
You shouldn't be passing much more than clots with a CP b/c the key to a CP is that the little fertilized eggie couldn't attach properly and turn into anything, so I would assume there's no sac. Did they see anything on an u/s?
Maybe they're calling it chemical if your betas never grew up above a certain point? I'm not sure. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I'm very sorry for your loss.
