Pregnant after 35

Still here, still pregnant.

Today's my EDD, but there is nothing going on down there.  I wouldn't mind but I hurt my back/hip/butt (a little hard to localize it) almost falling down the stairs the other day and I am in so much pain. I can barely walk. I think that it isn't getting any better because of the weight of the baby.

I'll call my doctor tomorrow and see if at the very least there are some painkillers that they can prescribe that are baby safe. Tyelenol is doing nothing. I can't really have any diagnostic testing to see if I did any damage to my back as long as I am pregnant. I think my only cure is delivery at this point.

Re: Still here, still pregnant.

  • Sounds like today would be a good day to have a baby!

Hope you are feeling better soon.   Save some energy, you'll need it to push that little one out!!

  • Ugh. I hope you feel better and go into labor soon!

Have you thought about seeing a chiropractor that is experienced with pregnant women? Sounds like you twisted or wrenched your back, and chiros can often help undo that type of thing.

  • Oh no!  Sorry you are in so much pain.  At least you didn't actually fall down the steps.

Hope you get some relief one way or the other.  WIshing some labor dust your way :)

  • Whoa Laura. How scary to almost fall down the stairs.

Hopefully the pain will be shadowed by labor pains soon Wink

  • Sorry about your back.  Ugh.  Hope you get some relief soon - I second the chiro or a physical therapist assuming you haven't delivered by early next week.  Def. call your doc about some meds too.

GL with that and here's to a baby arriving soon!

  • Ben just took a knee. Time for those contractions!
  • I was going to ask if you were still around.  I'm sorry you are feeling so badly.  No progress here either - but I feel good.  Appointment tomorrow morning - I'll take ANY progress. I'll be thinking about you!
  • Good luck, Laura.  So sorry you hurt your back area. :(

I totally understand how it feels to be at 40 weeks?and beyond. I hope you go into labor soon and meet your LO!
