Those of you getting induced

For the record, I'm not for or against getting induced. I asked this a while ago and all I got was was the anti-induction brigade...

Why are you getting induced? My LO was measuring 6lbs at 34 weeks, so my doctor started talking to me about it. He set a date (1 day before my EDD) without me saying for sure that I want to do it. I'm not too worried because I can always cancel...plus I plan on talking to him about it more at my appt. tomorrow.

    I did on my due date because I was retaining too much water. I gained 15 lbs the last week in just watr weight.....my skin looked so weird...anyways.... I was in labor for two days and ended up in c-section because the baby would come out.....he is now 14 months and healthy

    I am being induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons.  I have PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) and my doc dosn't want me to go past 38 weeks for the baby's health. Apparently PIH puts a strain on the placenta which isn't safe for LO.

    My doctor doesn't want me too far past 41 weeks just because LO is measuring big and I've had some pretty bad swelling. We are going to schedule an induction at my appt. tomorrow. I'm going to try to get her to admit me tomorrow since I will be exactly 41 weeks and start me on meds, but I don't know if she will or not.

    I was induced a week early because I have diabetes and hypertension. The hospital staff gets "nervous" when people like me go overdue. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have agreed to the induction. I believe I wouldn't have had a c-section if I'd waited until my body went into labor on its own. During med-induced labor, I went  to 6 cm and stalled. Who knows.

    I'm getting induced in about five hours mainly cuz of GD; they really want me to just have a c/s, but I've opted to go forth and at least try for a vaginal birth, hence the induction.

    im being induced on tuesday because the baby is in the 91st% for size and DH was 10lbs 6 oz and most babies in both families were around 10lbs.  2 were born with broken collarbones coming out. I will find out tomorrow if this is still a go or if they have to change it to a c/s.  as of last week the baby is still really high and even with the male trying to move the baby down, it didnt work so the baby may not fit in my pelvis.....

    I will possibly be induced this week. We will decide what to do tomorrow at my appt but as of last Monday the baby was calculated at 8 lbs. 14 oz. and dr doesn''t want the baby to get much larger for delivery sake. We will make a decision tomorrow based on if I have dialated any further or not. I was 1.5 cm 80% effaced last week so if I am at a stand still that may be a cue to help things along. I am not against/for induction. I trust my doctor whole-heartedly and we will decide what to do based on his opinion, etc.

    That was at 37 weeks and the baby was in the 95 percentile too.....

    I will be induced Wednesday because I will be a week overdue and that is my doctor's policy.  She offered Mon. or Tues, but I wanted to wait the full week to see if he would show up.  Guess there's still a chance, but I have yet to have a contraction--even BH.  I feel comfortable with my doctor's policy and with out decision, and I think that's really what matters.

    I am scheduled to have a foley catheter (Cervidil) inserted on my due date. If it does not successfully progress my labor overnight I will have a c/s. LO scored 8/8 on two bio physicals.

    LO is in the 93rd percentile weighing 8lbs 9 oz at 38 weeks. DH and I were both over 10 lbs at birth. Family history (mom, sister, aunts) unable to delivery vaginally due to failure to dilate. OB says my cervix is very narrow to begin with.

    I've got GD and am going in tomorrow evening to have Cervadil inserted and they'll start Pitocin on Tuesday morning.  It's my OB's policy to induce on the due date with GD.  I didn't question her or ask if I could not be induced.
