While I know everyone loves the Dyson, we have hardwood everywhere and just a couple of large area rugs. So I'm no keen on shelling out the money for a Dyson. We do have a dog and the pet hair on those area rugs is really starting to bother me now that LO spends a lot of time playing on the floor. I'd like to find something similar to the Dyson but cheaper in price.
Any recommendations?
Re: NBR - recommend your non-Dyson vacuum

Not vacuum related, but I dream of owning a Miele espresso machine one day. Ever since we vacationed in Ixtapa and the condo we stayed at had one. Pure bliss.
