Nausea Question

I'm wondering how soon you gals started to experience pregnancy nausea (morning sickness). Did any of you start getting sick before testing for a BFP? I've read that most women get sick around 3 weeks. What about you?

DH and I started to bed the 15th of December and I have been experiencing nausea for a few days...today was horrible!!!  I'm on CD 19 in a 27 day cycle and we never got a positive on OPK but we have been active every day since the 15th....am I sick from too much sex? I know, funny....but is it possible?

I won't be able to test until at least Jan 1st. AF is due to arrive the 6th.

Pregnant or worn out? You tell me...

Re: Nausea Question

  • I got my BFP at 15 dpo, and I was feeling sick at 5 weeks KU, but it didn't kick in till 6 weeks. May be stress or phantom symptoms, I hope you get a BFP but I would wait till after AF is late to test. BFNs suck. GL!

  • Thanks! And congrats on your pregnancy!!
  • I didn't have any symptoms until 7-8 weeks when nausea hit.
  • My morning sickness started around 6 weeks, and has been EVERY days since!  3-4 weeks is usually too early to be feeling m/s because your hcg is so low.  It's the rise in hcg that causes the m/s.  I wish you the best and hope you get your BFP!!!

  • 3 weeks is usually too early for nausea - its more common to appear around 6 weeks.

My first pregnancy, I got sick at 7 weeks.   This pregnancy, I got sick at 3.5 weeks (which is not common at all, but my OB said my body recognized the hormones earlier this time).

  • I got sick at about 5 weeks... and it's EVERY DAY, all day!  Yuck!  I would think that if you are really sensative to any hormone changes it could be.  For example if you cannot handle taking BC because it makes you sick then it could be... my mom cannot handle birth control at all and she was really really sick at just about 4 weeks, back then it was way to early to know, she thought she had the flu that ended up lasting 9 months.  Goodluck to you!
  • I didn't test until 18 DPO and i started feeling a little sick before but it really picked up at week 5 and has been going strong ever since!
  • With my second, I started feeling nauseous right at the time I expected my period.  With my other three pregnancies, the morning sickness didn't show up until 6 weeks or so.  So I think it can come that early.  Good luck!
  • Nausea started at 5ish weeks ... and it's still going strong!  Ick!
  • The day I turned 6 weeks with DD.
  • nausea started for me at around 6 weeks, but havent been sick yet, and i figured out how to combat my nausea. i eat often..and fortunatly thats worked pretty well
  • Thanks everybody! Very helpful!

Peapod - I'm so glad you brought up BC. I cannot take it because it makes me super sick. I'm very sensitive to my body so that's why I'm wondering if this nausea is a result of a BFP. I've been very aware of my body and its changes in the last few years, since beating ovarian cancer so I'm really hoping that I'm just an exception to the m/s rule because I am sooooo ready to be a momma.

  • this was actually how I knew I was pg.  I knew before testing b/c the morning sickness was so present. I tested at 14 dpo--but felt it at 11dpo.
  • I felt slight crampy feelings from about 1dpo onwards. At 10dpo I felt insanely nauseous...the next day I got my BFP!
