Baby Furniture help!

Does anybody have any recommendations on where to go to find some baby furniture collections? I've looked online at a few places like JCPenny, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Babies R Us but haven't had any collections really stand out.

Any suggestions? TIA!

Re: Baby Furniture help!

  • I thought USA baby had the best selection by far from any place in KC. I was disappointed as well in everything else. USA baby is by 103rd and Metcalf....by sitzmark.

  • We had a hard time too. Nothing @ NFM really caught our eye; USA Baby did have some nice sets. One of the other nesties rec'd Overstock Freight (click on Craiglist link on L for their current inventory) in Independence; they get new overstocks from BRU & places like that. Some of it might have slight dings or scratches, some is in perfect shape. We bought our Babi Italia dresser/changing table there and probably saved $200 off retail. They don't sell cribs, so we bought the matching crib at BRU. They've also got really good deals on gliders.

  • Babyland/Kidsland at 79th and Wornall is where we got our set.  They were the only company that carried Bonavita which is what we wanted.  Good luck!
  • I personally did not buy much baby furniture.  I turned our guest room furniture for use with the baby and just bought a crib.  I even turned a desk into a changing table.

However, if you are a bit handy  and looking for a deal I would visit- www.kiddoscollection.com.  They are located in Lee's Summit and they specialize in selling the same furniture that sells at Babies R Us or any other baby store on the cheap.  They usually get discontinued, slightly dinged items. I bought my rocker/glider from there for $199 and the EXACT same glider sells at Babies R Us for over $400!

Another thought is that I bought my crib from the JCPenney Outlet online- I would check that out for great quality cribs.

  • I'd recommend Overstock Freight but I don't want you to go in and pick out my set before I can get back over there.  ;)  Really, though, they do have a pretty decent selection for what it is (they generally have the dresser/changer combo as well as the larger dresser piece)  They also have great gliders if you are in the market, at 1/2 off.  I got my Dutilier today at less than half off.  GL!
