I got KNIVES! the good kind, Cutco. I'm so excited. I have grownup knives now. I've been coveting my mother's set that she's had since---what, 1986? Now i have my own. **beeeeee**

I got a cruise. No strangling, except for the really annoying cruise director...but that just helped me bond with the other passengers.

Weeeel. I kinda cheated and got my Christmas present early, we bought a joint gift of a new computer for the house. I do lots of web/graphics work and I needed a good desktop. It's totally kickass. BUT I didn't get to open anything so that kinda sucks. Oh well.

I wanted to strangle my MIL. She totally didn't have anything done for the Christmas dinner she "cooked" and had DH and I come over 2 hours early and we basically frantically pulled together a meal for 15 from nothing. I might kill her if she ever does this to me again. Next year I'm coming 30 minutes late.

I'm here! We were supposed to go to a party, but I think we would need to build an ark to get there so we're just hanging in.

Everyone behaved yesterday - for the most part. My FIL came close to pissing me off though. DH's family always jokes about who has an "announcement" to make. I was terrified that one of DH's siblings would forget that we announced the pregnancy last Christmas and try to be funny. But no, it was my FIL who announced they were having a baby. Luckily it passed quickly but I really wanted to smack him. The only other close call was someone got UP and we had to watch it. Good thing I knew about the, m/c scene and just sort of wandered out of the room for a few minutes.

I'm actually very happy to say that DH and I did not do presents this year.

All we both wanted was just to hold and love each other. I've never shared such an intimate Christmas with my DH.

And we still had presents to open with our parents.

My heart was aching, but overall, it was a very peaceful and happy Christmas.

Awwww, wow. That sounds like an amazing Christmas arrangement to me. I might have to steal that idea for next year! I understand the heartache, though, for sure.

Oh! And aside from my awesome elephant calendar, (diet)DH got me a spa gift set thing with an eye mask, neck wrap, etc. that have gel inserts you can warm or cool, a Snuggy (as a gag - we make fun of them), some lotions and junk, a charger for my camera (lost the original lately) and that's about it. Still haven't exchanged with family!

Didn't want to strangle anyone but the people responsible for plowing the streets... We have 8" of snow, and some drifts about 5' high!

I got a new winter coat from DH (winter white, Guess brand on sale), and I picked it out myself before the holiday, but I would say he still did good. Some nice gift cards from the parents. I wasn't tempted to strangle anyone - thank god. My BIL was blessedly absent from dinner on Thursday - none of us can stand him and for good reason. So I got to have some quality time with my sis at least.

My DH did soooo good. Diamond earrings, Uggs (the cute ones, if that makes sense) and some really thoughtful small stuff.

Strangle: My SIL. She is a freaking moron. Kept opening presents out of turn and bought a bunch of stuff off the list for people that I already told her I bought. It is way too long of a story to get into - the chick is a total headcase biitch. Her and my brother rushed into marriage because she kept saying she wanted kids right away (she's 35). Then as soon as they said the vows she suddenly no longer wants kids. It's just really weird. There's obviously a lot more to the story, but just believe me when I say she sucks.

Oh and my other SIL announced her pregnancy. She just had her second kid in April so it was a surprise. I was a little upset, but overall very happy for them. Which I hope is a sign that I am getting back to my regular self just a bit.
