Allergy Development
Anyone develop allergies during their pregnancy? We have been at my in-laws and I have felt absolutely AWFUL. Asthmatic almost... It feels as if my throat and chest is closed... My eyes sting and the congestion is awful. They have a cat. It has never bothered me before - but when we go out, my symptoms disappear.
Luckily, we leave tomorrow...
BTW, I have never really had ANY allergies, including seasonal, so I really have nothing to compare this to.

I already have allergies, so I'm no help there, but I can tell you mine got MUCH worse. Fun! Cats are a particular trigger of mine - I can't breathe, itchy eyes, sneezy, runny nose - after about 15 minutes I have to leave the room or get some fresh air because I'm so miserable - like I have an awful cold!
Also, my aunt did develop allergies when she was pg - she never had them before, so it definitely is possible. Good luck!
That sounds like a cat allergy. DH is allergic to cats and that's how he describes it. He doesn't even have to touch them - it's just in the air.
I have certain skin allergies - like some deodorants make me itch, that sort of thing. I've noticed that the deodorant I've been using for years has suddenly started making me itch, so I think my pregnancy is affecting my allergy.
I've know someone who developed a shellfish allergy while she was pg. She never had any problems before, but hasn't been able to eat shrimp or lobster since that pregnancy. Weird.
