We told both my family and DH's family yesterday that I was expecting. Everyone was so excited; it went beautifully. But, holy cow, the advice started pouring in immediently! And some totally crazy/innacurate stuff, too. Like only speak english around the baby (while in utero), or it will get confused

. What?! DH and I are still happy we told, but we really opened the floodgates on this one...

Are you kidding me? My brothers were adopted from Guatemala (Spanish speaking country) they were able to learn English just fine. In fact it is better if you want children to become bilingual for them to learn at an early age. Their brains are better at retaining language information.
