Brown spotting

Ladies, I am freaking out.  I started spotting brown last night.  It's only there when I wipe, but it is definetly brown.  I've been having some cramps this morning, but nothing worse than what I've had the entire pregnancy.  I called the nurse line, and she told me not to go to the ER unless it turned red or the cramps got worse.  She told me to take it easy today, and that it could be from two days of on the road traveling and possibly a bit of dehydration.

I'm terrified of another miscarriage.  I'll be spending my day on the couch praying like crazy that this baby sticks.

Re: Brown spotting

  • I had brown spotting at around 9 weeks...turned out the be a yeast infection which was weird to me b/c I'd never experienced one like that before...I went in the office and she did an u/s and said that otherwise everything was okay...try to take it easy and drink plenty of water...I'm sure you'll be fine...keep us posted.

  • I had some brown spotting the day after having sex early in my pregnancy too.  The doctors and nurses told me they weren't worried unless it was red, because brown meant old blood.  Just rest over the course of the weekend and if you're still worried on Monday, tell your doctor you WANT to come in and get checked out for peace of mind!

  • I'd insist on coming in on Monday, too.  Your peace of mind is very important (pregnancy is stressful enough). Don't let a nurse talk you out of coming in. That being said, brown spotting is old blood and is probably fine.  Relax and drink plenty of fluids.  Keep us updated.
  • I'm so sorry! ((Hugs)) Call the doctor on Monday for your own peace of mind like the others have said. T&P for you and Keep us posted!!!

  • Brown blood sounds like nothing to worry about, but I know it's scary regardless.  Please let us know what the doctor says if you go on Monday! ((hugs))
  • I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. However, I think that it happens more often than you hear about and usually everything is ok unless it does turn red. It actually just happened to a friend of mine who recently had a miscarriage and she was worried sick this time as well, but everything looked great for her!
  • I had brown spotting around 6.5 weeks - it was after we went snorkeling in Hawaii (and had sex).  I was terrified.  As long as it doens't turn red, you're probably in the clear.  When is your next appt?

    Hang in there
