Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Is there a 9 month growth spurt?

Matthew took about 10-12 ounces last night.  He usually only gets up once to eat but got up twice and cried until I fed him.

I just don't want to go down that road again where we are waking 8 times a night.

  • I don't know, but DD did the same thing last night.  She had 6 oz at 7:30 and went down for the night.  She woke at 12 and downed another 6 oz, and then woke again at 3:30 and took another 6 oz.  She usually just wakes up once around 3.  I also think I need to increase her solids.

  • DS did this a few weeks ago...I wasn't sure if it was because my supply was dropping (I was ebfing), he needed more solids or if it was just a growth spurt. I think it was a combination of all three. It was a rough 2 weeks but now he's sleeping all night again. I just kinda went with the flow and rode it out...I tried offering more solids and he scarfed them down.
  • YES! DD doubled her solids AND formula for a couple of weeks, including eating 12-14oz in the middle of the night when she previously didn't need any!

  • We went from STTN for 12 hours a night for several months to HELL, the last 3 weeks he has been getting up 3-4 times a night.  My life has sucked.

  • At around 9 months DD started waking again after STTN since 4 months. It only lasted for a few weeks, but I think it was a growth spurt because she ate a ton when she would wake at night.
