Pregnant after a Loss

please tell me this is normal

i woke up this morning with a very mild barely noticeable crotch-bone pain ( sorry dont know how else to describe it) its now 1pm and the pain has escalated. it feels like i have been riding a horse full speed all morning. it hurts to lift my leg to try to cross it, standing makes the pain/pressure worse but even sitting i can still feel it. what is this? MH thinks LO may be dropping and that is what i'm feeling? i dont know but its freaking me out...my CM also increased since last night...someone please tell me i'm not gonna be in the hospital tomorrow lol

Re: please tell me this is normal

  • I don't post on here much, but Ive been having the same things for weeks! It's so painful. I think maybe it's because my LO has been pretty low. Rolling over in bed at night is the worst! Taking a bath has seemed to help me a little. I even tried a heating pad last night. Just try to stay off your feet. Hope it gets better!

  • Had it for about 3 weeks now! Asked dr. about it and he said it's the pubic bone starting to spread. Not harmful to baby or mom or pregnancy, just miserable! Doesn't mean baby is coming any time soon. :(

    Tips that I found online:

Keep your knees together when you stand and sit

    Don't cross your legs

Keep knees together when you roll over in bed (WAY easier said than done)

Don't squat unless you absolutely have to

    Tylenol!

  • Sounds like pelvic pressure... I think it is pretty normal and baby may be dropping some. At over 35 weeks, you shouldn't worry too much about this, especially if it feels better when you're resting. I'd say just take it easy today and sit cross-legged (like, criss-cross applesauce) on the couch. If it hurts very badly, hurts while resting, and/or turns into regular contractions, you might want to call the doc.
  • Hey there!  I have been experiencing that same pain feeling for 2 weeks now, on and off.  Check in What to Expect - it talks about it, under Pelvic Pain in the index.  Basically it is the muscles/tendons of our pelvic bone stretching and loosening, in preparation for what is to come.  It does NOT mean that labor is around the corner.  For some ladies it can happen early on, like me at 28+ weeks.. for some it comes later, like with you.  Some never get it (lucky gals).  It is not fun.  It hurts to walk, it hurts to lift your leg... yep.

  • A friend of mine had that, it had a name and everything. She was in TERRIBLE pain, but the baby was never in danger. She just was miserable. Symphasis Pubis? Something that sounded like that.

  • I've had it for weeks. It sucks. Some days are worse than others. Walking helps.
