  we follow babywise and they say not to increase to 4 hours until they are STTN 9-10 hrs. i would say find a program you like and stick to it. there are a lot of them out there and it is really helpful to have some guidence.

  We increased their intake all the time, the trio are chow hounds LOL

  We didn't move from the 3 hour schedule until they were off formula and on solids. We tried a few times to go to 4 hours but every time we did they would stop sleeping through the night. They started going 12 hours at 5 months, so we did NOT want to mess with that wonderfulness

  I wouldn't try to move them to a 4 hour schedule yet, they need to be eating every 3 hours at their age. We increase our amount when the kids act like they want more and are able to keep it down, we go up an ounce each time. Both of mine eat every 3 hours and tend to sleep 11--12 hours at night, they do tend to drink a bigger bottle at that first feeding. I figure the won't go to a 4 hour+ schedule until more solids are introduced.

  wow, i think every 3 is great at their age!!  we had kids (one especially) who wanted to eat every 2, 2 1/4, 3, 2 1/2... (you get the picture) at that age.  i would've been thrilled to keep them at 3hrs.  our preemies got big fast, and our ped had us give them water between bottles somewhere between 3 and 4 mos.  he had us do this to get them to stretch the time between feedings.  they hated it, but it did work after a couple weeks.
