How are you this morning? Please keep my day occupied :)

Re: *jacquie*

  • If I keep you occupied, I will not do any work. ::thinking:: Okay, my arm has been twisted. :)

I am so sleepy. I did not sleep at all last night. I could not get comfortable. I think I need to get one of those body pillows. Do you have any sleep suggestions?

  • Well Considering I woke up at 3...decided at 4 to try to get that pesky stain out of the couch, finish wrapping presents, and start the laundry...and back to sleep from 5:30-6... I don't know if I am one to offer advice..

But I got a kingsize pillow and put it between my legs. I sleep with three pillows so I move one to the side and hug it. That usually works for me. Last night was not good at all. I was going to get a body pillow but:

    A) I couldn't find one in town

    B) Dan thought it might be a bit much to build the great wall of china in between us (we have a queen bed)

A lot of ladies get the pregnancy pillow the snoogie or something...It might be worth a try.

  • Indifferent You are crazy! That stain must have been really botheing you, lol.

I was thinking the same thing about the body pillow. We have a queen as well and with one of the cats sleeping next to me, there really is not that much room. I would hate to put a big blocker between me and Mark. Maybe I will go buy a big pillow as well and try that first. If it doesn't work, well I get a nice big new pillow.

  • I know I am crazy...maybe nesting? Then when I laid back down, LO was going nuts. Kicking and rolling all over the place..

I would definitely recommend a pillow between the legs...it helps with hip and lower back pain.

Do you have any plans tonight?

  • We are going to my MIL's house for dinner. It is at 4pm!?!?!?!? She is serving veal, which I do not eat for personal reasons.  It has always been a tradition to eat fish (Feast of the Seven Fishes) on Christmas Eve in our family so this is going to be weird.

I really need a nap before hand. What about you?

  • We are having dinner at my house and yes it is at 4pm as well. We have church at 7 and my parents and grandparents like to save sets at 6 so it is usually a little tight as it is!

My mom has offered to do all the cooking though :) and my housecleaner came on Monday. So I have very little to do but pick up, light candles, make my pie for tomorrow and vacuum our couch and rug (dog hair). But I am sure I will stay busy right up until we eat. Oh and I have to do my hair too. I think we are having 15-17 people over.

Then we go to Christmas Eve service. I like it because I get to see a lot of my friends that are out of town.

Then busy day tomorrow we go to my parents for breakfast, my grandparents for lunch, Dan's grandmas for supper, then Saturday Dan's other grandparents for dinner and Sunday Dan's mom's for dinner.

Are you busy on Christmas? I still am not really in the mood this year.

My mom got on me this morning for buying so many clothes. She said I won't know what to do with all of them. I said my baby needed to be cute, and I couldn't let just anyone be responsible for that...she didn't buy it. She went into the "When I had you..." rant.

  • I agree, baby needs to be cute and some people's tastes like my mom's as well are a little off some days. That is a lot of people, but I am sure it will be a great time!

I usually always go to Midnight mass on Christmas Eve, but I don't think I will be able to stay up that late. So Mark and I will head to church early in the morning so I can get back to baking. I have another 2 batches of cookies to make, make the buttercream, ice and put together the cake, dip my cheesecake balls in chocolate. Oh, and did I mention I have to do some christmas shopping this afternoon. Aye!

We are going to my MIL's again tomorrow. I have no idea what time, all I know is that I have to bring dessert. I wish we had the holidays at our place. I know we live in a apartment but my inlaws condo is just a little bigger. I just want to be able to go lie down, especially since I have not been sleeping well.

After two years, I am still not used to doing the Holidays with the IL's. It is not bad, it is just different from what I grew up with. I am going to have to get over that one day. Next year, I am going to insist we do Christmas. We will have a LO, and I would rather not have to travel all over with him/her. ::puts foot down:: Hopefully we will be in SC then!

  • You are such a baker...I am salivating.

I have trouble with inlaw things. I think it works because Dan isn't close to them...so everything is relatively "my way" so it works out. It is also nice that everyone lives so close that we don't have to pick and choose.  All the times work out that we can be at everyone's. I told Dan I am not going to drive two hours between lunch and dinner next year for Thanksgiving..that we will have to alternate. We will see...he thinks it is manageable. I think LO will be worn out though and cranky.

  • Yeah, I have seen Mark's niece and nephew get tired and cranky just after a few hours. We usually worked around their schedule because it was just easier for all involved. Now it will be our turn :). I just get excited at the act that we will hopefully be living near my parents soon. I miss them so much. They are by themsleves this christmas and worst yet, my sister is all by herself. I just couldn't afford to make the trip to see her. Crying

  • ((hugs)) I am so sorry. I hope you get to move to SC by next year. I hate for people to be alone on Christmas. My aunt and uncle and their two kids choose to be alone. They always go to Travel destinations, rather than home to be with either of their families. They have went to Hawaii in the past. This is the 2nd year of going to Lake Tahoe. I think it is so sad that my aunt doesn't make an attempt to see my grandpa when he is getting older. They have the money, just no desire to have family..they don't really have friends either. They think they are better than all of us.

  • That is sad, they may soon regret that. Family is the most important aspect in life, IMO.

Before you go, I wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas!!!!!
