How long did you have PP bleeding for?
I'm still going (suckfest) so I have to make an appt. to get checked out. I'm a little nervous because I've heard of some ladies needing a D&C when it goes on this long. I'm hoping it stops on its own before the appt, but we'll see.
I'm wondering if since I was on so many drugs to get a nice thick lining during the IVF cycle if that has anything to do with it....
FWIW, I had a c/s, so I would think they would have removed everything that needed to be removed...
Re: If you had IF treatments to concieve your twins
is it heavy? if so- call your doc.
with both my pg's I had bleeding for about 8w- but it was very light for the most part (would be heavier the day after i was very active).
with my c/s I had much less bleeding than my vaginal birth- the nurses told me that's b/c they do scrape out a lot when they are in there. I only had heavy bleeding my first day in the hospital- then it was just mainly spotting after that... for about 8w.
call your doc and see what he/she says. I really don't think IF has anything to do with it - but you never know.

I had a C and had a very abnormal recovery with bleeding/clotting. My uterus (on u/s) showed 50% pooling in blood. They put me on a med called methargine (sp?) to contract it and help lessen the bleeding. No success. My dr. discussed a D&C but wanted to first give a shot at another oral med called Cytotec. He said that he didn't want to do a D&C only one month after my C because it could potentially affect future pg (scar tissue). DH and I really want more children, so I prayed the cytotec would work. Thankfully, it did, and I no longer have the bleeding issues.
I spotted from week 4-6 post C but then it has stopped all together. perhaps you can ask your dr. about cytotec or other oral meds before having to go the D&C route. If you do a D&C, I would think that 11 wks out, it would be a safe procedure (in terms of scar tissue).
GL and hope you get some answers/ relief soon.
BTW, my dr. believed that my "over doing it" (I was by myself without DH for the first month with my twins) had to do with my delayed healing/continued bleeding. He strongly encouraged getting as much rest as poss. and to not do any lifting heavier than picking up the twins.
