AW Best Suprise!

I went in today for a normal check up with my midwife. At the end of the appointment she gave us a form to schedule the anatomy ultrasound. I got really excited and she said, "what would it be worth to find out today?" I got even more excited and she said they like to do this around this time of the year as a suprise. It would be our "unofficial" gender check.

I didn't want to get my hopes up so I told myself that the baby wouldn't cooperate and we'd still have to wait until the end of January. Well, I laid down and the tech said the umbilical cord was between it's legs so she scanned other areas. She went back to the "parts" and said, "It's a girl! Here's her labia. Oh, wait a minute." After further exploration she gave us many photos of an absolute boy! I was so happy! I've always imagined having boys. We'll still have our offical ultrasound on the 22nd but this was an excellent suprise.

Once we left we went shopping a bought a super cute outfit at Nordstroms. We had it wrapped and took it to our parents to share the good news. Knowing the sex really makes it all seem so much more real. What an excellent Christmas present.
