I had my growth scan today and Baby A weighs 4lb10oz and Baby B is 4lbs11oz. Both looked great and were working hard on practicing breathing. The NST went well too.
The last 2 weeks, I had +1 protein in my urine. I did the 24 hour urine collection and got the results = 157. Under 150 is normal. Its not high enough to diagnosis pre-e, but it is something else to watch for. They also had to increase my insulin yet again.
I left MFM and was trying to focus on the positive - my babies are growing well and are doing great. Then the phone rang.....my foster son's caseworker called to give me a head's up about court tomorrow. Our foster son has been with us since Sept 2008 when he was 14 months old. The county was supposed to file to terminate his parents' rights (TPR) in October and we were identified as the adoptive placement. They never filed the TPR. They now expect him to be reunited with his Dad in February. My heart is breaking.
Re: Today - the good and the bad
I'm sorry about your foster son. I would ask for a drug test before he's placed back. *I lurked on adoption*
As far as your pregnancy.....did they suggest a 24 hour urine test? I did those every so many days with Chris' pregnancy since I was diagnosed with pre-e at 28 weeks.
I asked the c/w tonight for a drug test. Its been on her to do list for a while, so we will definitely ask about it in court tomorrow if its not raised.
The 157 is from the 24 urine test I did Sun-Mon. I see the OB on Thurs, so I'll find out if she wants me to do them regularly. The peri today didn't mention doing it again since I'm being monitored so closely anyway (MFM 2x/wk and OB 1x/wk). Thankfully my BP is always normal and I've had no vision changes or swelling in my face or hands. How far along were you when you had Chris?
I made it to 35 weeks (an hour into 35 weeks). I had a headache and seeing spots at 31 weeks and steriods at that point. I had weekly NST's and BPP's from 31w to 34 weeks. My BP spiked to 175/115 and I started having increased liver enzymes at at 34w5d.
I also had pre-e with Jonathan and Matthew's pregnancy AND Joshua's. With Jon and Matthew's I was on procardia which masks the BP changes but my urine had around 500 protien the day I had them. My water broke so they had to be born. With Joshua, I went into labor on my own but they were going to induce if I didn't go into labor on my own by the day I did.
I am so sorry about your foster son!! I hope that somehow he is able to stay with you.
I'm glad your babies are growing well and hoping you don't develop pre-e!
