IDK. I worked 50 hours a week mostly on my feet with an hour commute each way. I worked until the day I went into labor. I would have to say that was probably equally as tiring as life at home with a newborn was. Now that DD's older being a SAHM is definately easier though. Although I cannot imagine being a working mom. Those ladies have all my respect.
God, her husband sounds like a straight-up assshole:

Unfortunatley my DH is not "domesticated" and well doesn't really
try to become that way (he was raised where the woman does all the
chores and errands). I ask for help but things get done on his time -
which means they take too long. Fishing and his boat sometimes seem
more priority because he knows he's not going to get time to do it once
LO arrives. I don't mean to bad on my DH... my mom feels sad for me
...she told me the other day "I know you must feel so alone in all
this." It doesn't help that DH has lots of days off right now because
he's "off cycle". So I get up and he gets to sleep in. lucky ass!!! I'm
just grouchy and irritated and feel like you guys will understand
better then most!
I have little sympathy for situations like these, though. If you knowingly marry an assshole, don't complain when the asssholishness doesn't magically disappear after the wedding or when you pop out a kid.

This, exactly...except I was laid off a week before I was due instead of working right up until the day of.
I don't know, I feel a little sorry for her. He Dh is a piece of work, and she's not getting any help.
You know what I love about that ... she says that HE KNOWS once the baby arrives he won't have time to do the boat/fishing whatever ... 10 bucks says he doesn't know that and plans to continue not being an active in the household. If he doesn't take responsibility now - why would he when baby comes - especially if his mentality is XYZ is 'women's work'.

Re: because being at home with a newborn is easier than working while pregnant???
Her world is about to turn upside down if she thinks maternity leave is going to be relaxing and easy.?
