Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I feel like I have been robbed of Christmas this year...

Just a lil bit...

Ever since I got back from the Philippines trip, started the new job, everything has been such a whirlwind. We barely got pictures done, I haven't baked, cards never happened and presents just got wrapped! I feel like I have been in such a rush I haven't really gotten to enjoy the season as much as I usually do...

We have our candlelight church service this week and then Im off until next week, so Im hoping I'll get to slow down and refocus and get some of the "magic" back...

Does anyone else feel like this? When we become grown ups we get so overwhelmed by life that some of the magic fades a little? Im just hoping to live vicariously through DS's experience of everything Christmas has to offer.

  • I feel the exact same way. We were on vacation from 12/2-12/9 (which was absolutely amazing) and then really busy playing catch up with work. i had to replace all four tires on my van after a flat (there went 560 bucks of christmas money) and my sis and her 3 boys are staying at my house from florida and I am getting NOTHING done.

but my family will all be together on christmas eve so thats what matters and i am focusing on that.

  • That was me last year.

This year  I'm finding myself quite excited for Christmas which is a really nice change from previous years.

Even if you only accomplish the bare minimum, don't feel bad about it, it's the little things that count anyway.  All you really need is your family, the rest is just a bunch of extra blessings.

  • Yes, I feel a bit sad about the fact that it is just 3 days away. We moved here a month ago and it has been a whirlwind month. We have gone on so many spending sprees for the new house, that buying gifts felt like a chore. My family is 2000+ miles away and we have no friends, so I am really trying to be jolly aNd cheery, but its hard to connect that it is about to be Christmas. The only constant reminder is my 5 year old who is beyond excited about santa coming.
