Babies: 3 - 6 Months

so for those of you (us) balding...

have you gotten so desperate that you've resorted to Rogaine?  did it work?  I think i'm beginning to look like a cancer patient.  No offense to cancer patients (my mom had it), but geez this hair loss is getting way out of hand!

Re: so for those of you (us) balding...

  • I haven't done anything yet. I may in another month b/c I heard it stops around 5 months and that's in 3 days. I've got a balding spot on my part.

  • I am just wearing my hair up or in a braid.  I hate to see it down.  It's super thin and stringy looking.

  • I just noticed this week that it seems to FINALLY be slowing down.  Still shedding - just not handfuls at a time.

  • If you do use rogaine the use the mens not the womens. It works better. I had cancer 10 years ago and it worked great to help my hair come back in.I talked to my hair dresser last night and she said that it will come back in on its own and then gave me a different hair cut to help it look fuller. You may want to try that first.

  • I haven't done anything.  I dont really think that it looks much thinner but I have a TON of hair.  It's driving me crazy though -- SO much is falling out!!!  I thought that I was the only one still experiencing this.
  • when I wash my hair, I just want to cry.  Thankfully my hair was always reasonably thick, but when I run my fingers through it, I feel like I could save the handfuls for locks of love!  I've got the cul-de-sacs at my temples so I try to do a well placed part so that the top of my hair drapes over the bald spots.  I don't dare pull my hair back because I'm scared of the world seeing...ok, I'm mostly scared of DH making fun of me.  Maybe I'll just start wearing beanies.
  • The hair loss just started for me and it makes me want to cry! My hair is already thin enough as it is, I cannot afford to lose more hair. I'm trying Rogaine for men next week.
  • someone mentioned that you should not use rogain for postpartum hair loss. It says so on the box of the womens rogain.

i cut my hair this past weekend, i know its not going to stop the hairloss but my hair was really long, like mid-back, and the hairballs clogging the shower drain were insane. hopefully it slows down soon

  • Last month I had extreme hair loss.  I started taking a vitamin called Biotin.  (LC okayed it)  It has really worked!  I no longer lose large clumps of hair in the shower.

  • I had definitel bald areas around the hairline and temples, but my hair loss slowed significantly at 5 mo and these areas are now filling back in on their own. It looks like a little goofy now because I have 1 inch long spiky hairs in the front, but at least its coming back. You just have to be patient. For most people, the hair loss seems to improve between 5-6 mo.
