trying to feel for uterus

I'm 12w4d Should I be able to feel the top of my uterus yet? When did you feel yous.? What does it feel like? Do you have to be laying down so your muscles are relaxed?

Re: trying to feel for uterus

  • I still can't feel mine. At my last doctor's appt. by doctor showed me how to feel for it and I still didn't know what I was feeling.

  • You look kind of tall.  It could still be hiding behind the pubic bone.  I am super short with twins so I felt mine around 10 weeks but I wouldnt worry if you cant yet.

  • i have a hard time with this, sometimes i can feel it, sometimes not. when i lay down, i can feel it best at 12 weeks, you might not be able to feel it just yet, i think i felt mine around 13w4d. it was about 2 finger tips up from pelvic bone and it felt like a ridge i guess. GL, it will come soon! Im just noticing a lil bit of a bump now!
  • My NP at my appt. last week said mine was right between my belly button and my pubic bone. I have no clue what I'm feeling for. I just take her word for it.

  • um, not to be all tmi here, but you can feel it best when you have an orgasm. it will be hard and you'll know if it's above the pubic bone.

i never felt the ridges like people say you can.

  • I have been able to feel mine since about 12 weeks, and now I really do, always laying down.  Like pp, it may be because you are taller and leaner.
  • That's exactly what one of my friends said. So, I tried the orgrasm and  I don't think Mines out of my pubic bone yet. I still think I'm just really bloated.
  • I have a pretty easy time with mine but I'm als only 5'2". At 11 weeks My doctor said it was half way to my ellybottom which surprised her but I have a tilted uterus s perhaps that's why...or I should say I HAD a tilited uterus but it seems to have corrected itself.

Be patient with your body...it will come.

I'm 5'2" too and I can't feel mine. But for me I'm pretty sure it's because I'm a fatty, and I already had a pretty signigificant beer belly to begin with. Sometimes I think I feel it, but I'm not sure.
