DH thinks its genetic. He said no male in his family will eat them.
I've never seen them not gobble food before but the faces, crying and spit out of the green beans on multiple occasions has convinced me to give up for a week or so.

DS will only take green beas when they're warm and on a good day. Even then he's just tolerating them. Peas he hates. Maybe once they're mixed with meat.
LO hated green beans the 1st and 2nd time we tried them - I was devastated (not really, but I love them).. and then out of no where 3rd time LOVES them
It took Eli several attempts to eat green beans without spitting them out. We mixed them in with some rice cereal and a little fruit juice and he eventually ate them. Now he'll eat them on their own. Same thing with peas. But he loved the garden blend with carrots, peas, and spinach. Go figure!
I was totally shocked that they both loved it. Eli has been the pickier eater, but Ben eats anything you put in front of him then begs for more! Gotta love the 6 month growth spurt!
Last night they had chicken with rice for dinner (the 2nd foods). Definitely their favorite dinner so far. Their favorite breakfast is the apple blueberry.
Are they unsupported sitters? We got the okay for table food but I'd really like them to sit up more before I move them to chunkier textures of anything. We haven't done any meats yet. I make about 75% of their food right now though.

2nd stage isn't any chunkier...it's just larger quantities. DS is on 2nd stage and would be even if he wasn't sitting. As long as they've had the other ingredients in the mixed stuff it's okay. That's just a Gerber thing (the sitting/crawling stages). They have the solo stuff (bananas, squash, etc.) too.

Yes, they are unsupported sitters. But we moved them to 2nd foods for the quantity and the blends. Our pedi said they could start having meats around 6 months and the solo meats are just gross, so we got the 2nd foods combos that have other stuff in that they've had before. They also love the sweet potatoes and corn. Actually, there isn't much they haven't loved (esp. Benjamin!).

Sarah HATED them as purees. She would gag and be very melodramatic about it.
She LOVES them as finger food now.

So I guess it?s a little odd that D?s fav so far has been the green beans !
