If you went into labor naturally...

How far along were you? Dr. told me the median gestational age of twins is 35-36 weeks, but I'm interested in when it happened naturally for everybody here. He also told me I have a "good chance" (30-40%) of making it all the way to 38 weeks for my scheduled C. I'm no mathematician, but 30-40% doesn't sound like a "good chance" LOL.

Thanks ladies!

  • I went on bed rest for PTL @ 30w.  My water broke naturally @ 32w3d.

  • I made it to 36 weeks, 3 days. I had been having regular contractions for 2 weeks, but they weren't changing my cervix. Then one night they felt a little stronger so we went in. I was 6 cm dilated by the time we got there, so they prepped me for surgery. My water never did break on its own this time. They did it during my surgery.

  • I didn't go into labor naturally but I made it all the way to 37w6d for my scheduled induction. No PTL, no visits to L&D, nothing. I had tons of BH and what I think were real contractions that last week, but if I hadn't been induced, I think I easily could have gone at least several more days if not another week or so before those babies decided they wanted to come out!

And the average gestation for twins is 36.5 weeks.

  • 35 weeks.

  • My water broke when I was 33w 5days.
  • Thanks ladies,

BTW The Dr. used the "median" or the middle number of gestational age, as he said it tells more than just looking at the overall "average" or mean. That is what he said was 35-36 weeks.

I guess it's different for everone between PTL, bedrest etc. I haven't had any false alarms, contractions or anything, so I'll just hope to keep cooking these ladies for as long as I can.

  • I went to L&D at 32w4d for PTL.  Was on BR until 36w along with Procardia.  I still made it to my scheduled c/s at 38w.
  • Water broke at 36w 2d.
  • My water broke at 30w2d.  I delivered within 6 hours.

That makes sense. I was lucky to make it as long as I did! Though when we've done polls on this board, I think it was close to half made it to 37w (full-term). Sounds like you're doing great so far!

  • I made it 38 weeks. I was having contractions so they did an induction then so i didn't go on Thanksgiving day. I deliver too quick and they needed to get all the extra staff there.
