Re: How do you organize your coupons?

  • I have an organizer that is actually for checks or household bills, and I organize them by category.  I also make a list before going to the store and have a separate section for coupons I plan to use.  That way I don't have to try and remember what coupons I might have.

The is a Microsoft Word template for grocery lists, and when I do my list I put an * next to an item that I have a coupon for.

Have fun.  DH used to make fun of me, but I kept a spreadsheet of what I saved in just manufacturer's coupons for 6 months and it was the equivalent of a paycheck and a half.

  • I use a cheap plastic photo album book, and stick the coupons in where the pics go. I have a red one for grocery coupons, and a pink one for stores like babiesrus, walmart, target, etc.
  • I am terrible at it. But most major stores offer those discounts for people who shop alot... those "bonus cards" or whatever each store calls them. My mom travels A LOT, and has one for literally every store imaginable - even ones I've never heard of. So whenever cashiers ask me if I have a savings card, I ask them to look it up by my mom's home phone number. It has never failed me, and my mom gets to reap the benefits of my savings!

  • I just keep mine all together in an envelope.  Before I go to the store I usually go through them and the ones I think I'll be using I put at the front.  Not that organized, but I don't have tons so it works for me.
  • I'm a coupon freak myself and have saved soooo much money. I use a mini file binder from walmart for like $4 and keep it in my car at all times. I divide mine by categories: Use today, BRU, Target, mall, freezer, canned goods, baby stuff, pets, household, dairy/cold food, snacks, cleaning, and misc. I put new coupons in front within each category that way the expired ones end up toward the back.

  • I have a small plastic accordion file.  I organize by category and when I add new ones I always make sure to organize them so that the ones that expire first are in the front.

Every Sunday I go through and make sure it's organized and toss all expired coupons.
