Never knew my cervix could make me so happy
It measured over 50mm. The doc said it was so long it needed its own street sign. He said I wont need to get it checked again (well, have regular cervix checks...I'll still get it checked at growth scans) unless something goes really wrong. woohoo!

at one of my checks the tech did it twice because it was so long she didn't think it was right- but it measured very long again - i was thrilled! Who knew that a long cervix could make you so thrilled, huh? : ) I wanted to post about it on my facebook page- but knew it would gross out my male friends, lol.

I only had this done because of frequent contractions. You have a lot of growth scans, and thats about all thats extra unless you have complications. (at least thats how my doc does it)
I have my cervical length checked at every growth scan (every 4 weeks.)

It is interesting how different doctors are. My cervix is 5.5 cm (sometimes it measures as long as 6 cm, sometimes as low as 5 cm), but because i'm having BHs, I'm being checked every week.
My doc says that it can go from 6 cm to nothing in 24 hours.....I wish my doctor was as optimistic as yours, it would help me sleep at night!
On the other hand, when I went to L&D a few weeks ago because of the BHs, my OB's partner was on call. I have never met him before the L&D visit, but when he measured my cervix, he said "you are the one with the long cervix, I heard about you." I guess it was his way of agreeing with your doc's take on things....I think it is time for me to drill my OB on Wednesday.
