Upstate NY Babies

Seriously... please tell me it gets better.

The past week has been the absolute worst for morning sickness!  I am nauseous all. the. time. but the afternoons seem to always be the worst.  I eat crackers, small meals throughout the day etc. and it normally works, but this past week is just bad!  Nothing seems to be helping.  How long did everyone's nausea last?  It will go away right?  Please say yes!

Re: Seriously... please tell me it gets better.

  • i had MS for pretty much my entire first tri, couldn't even look at water much less drink it. i didn't throw up much but that wasn't much consolation for the constant nausea.

it went away as i entered my 2nd tri, but that meant i was able to eat my face off and so i entered three months of constant heartburn & weight gain.

thrid tri i was put on a special diet b/c of GD so the heart burn went away, i didn't gain any more weight, but i was so very limited as to what could eat

in conclusion, yes it will get better, if by getting better, you mean one side effect replaced with another- lol!! seriously though- it's all worth it!!

  • I was always sick like late afternoon/dinner time. I think for 99% of women is DOES get better, I promise. Mine lasted about 3 weeks (I wanna say wk8-wk11). The one thing that really, really helped was plain baked potatoes. I LIVED on plain cheerios and baked potatoes those 3 wks and never once threw up. Good Luck- it's all worth it!

  • With DS I was sick from weeks 6-14 and from noon - midnight...it was terrible. But this time I was sick from weeks 6-12 or 13 and it was just off and on in the am and afternoon....not as constant.

It stinks...and really wears on you!! Peppermint candies were the only thing that helped me a little between meals.

  • Mine went from when I found out (roughly 7wks) until maybe 14-15wks. I grazed a lot and sour candy, lemonade, soup seemed to help a lot. I always had hard candy with me which worked sometimes too! Hope it gets better!
