It is now day three of Sick!Jenn and I am so over this. I am behind on shopping and wrapping, and I really need to go up to Seattle to drop off presents to people and finish shopping either tomorrow or Wednesday, so I need some ideas to get well, fast. I used to drink dayquil by the gallon, but since I am nursing, all I can do is t
ake Tylenol Cold every four hours. Boo. And speaking of nursing, being sick has really lowered my supply -- just when Collin really needs it because he seems to have the sniffles. He is in good spirits, though, and out with my mom.
I used to get sick every year right after Christmas -- usually around when AF showed up -- so part of me thinks it's better to be sick beforehand, but I really need to feel better!
Re: Give me your get-well-quick remedies
Ditto on the oil of oregano (that also works great for killing fungus in your body). I also use Beta Glucan, but you have to get the good stuff or your just wasting your money...it's like $60 a bottle on Amazon, but helps to keep my family from catching whatever it was that I had.
For symptoms, I do Robitussin for the cough, hot water with fresh lemon and a smidge of honey for my throat, and I drink lots of water to avoid getting worse. Yes, drown those bugs as my mom would say.
And the mother of all....sleep. You just can't get better fast without it.
Hope you feel better soon!

I find taking cold ease zinc losenges religiously really helps shorten the life span of my cold. It doesn't do much for symptoms but my colds are a LOT shorter.
Also, lots of ginger. I like to make chicken soup and add minced ginger root.

Booo! I hope you get better quick! Being sick around this time of year totally sucks.
I usually pop major vit c, echinacea, and buckets of water. Also, try to get lots of rest, but that's easier said than done this week.
