Pregnant after a Loss

i HATE feeling this way

but i?ve talked myself into a nervous frenzy. I feel like I am the only person in the whole world who hasn?t felt movement yet. I am scared for my big u/s on Wednesday. I feel like all the crying and nervousness and being tense from the wreck I was in last week could have been a real bad thing. I feel like I don?t eat enough vegetables, in fact I know I don?t. And I am usually the last one who ever does this, but I hopped on google. Apparently you can still have a missed m/c this late. I was in a good place until about a week ago. Now I?m just full of envy for everyone who can feel movement and it makes me sad. I just want to know my baby is okay and crossing my fingers that on Wednesday I get to see her/him just jumping away in there healthy as could be.

But I?m really so sick of this worrying crap. Ugh :/

Re: i HATE feeling this way

  • If it makes you feel any better, I just felt movement this past weekend.  I found out at my big u/s I have an anterior placenta.  A lot of people don't feel movement until after 20 weeks.  I know it is easier said than done but just try not to stress.  Do you have a doppler?  That eased my mind and still does:)

  • PS - I don't even come close to eating enough vegetables either.  I do however eat enough carbs and sweets:)
  • oh hun, i wish i had some more words of wisdom to give you. i know it's a scary time, but try to remain positive. although a late miscarriage is POSSIBLE, it's a lot more probable that everything's fine, and that it's just taking a little long to feel movement. maybe the placenta is in the way.

i am sending you positive vibes, and i hope that the girls who have been through the 17 week point can give you some encouraging information. huge hugs.

  • With DS I didn't feel movement until 24 weeks. I remember thinking he would live on the outside and I have yet to feel him on the inside. Try not to worry, I'm sure your little frijolito is doing great!

  • Don't worry.  I didn't feel any type of movement until 20 weeks.  And I just started to feel her from the outside last week.  It will come.
  • I'm so sorry you are feeling so anxious- its no fun :( I'm sure everything is just fine- your u/s will be here before you know it and you get to see your lo!

  • I did not feel anything with DS until I was 19wks & even then it was every once in awhile. At our big U/S I could see him moving all over the place but I felt nothing.
I am sure you & the baby are fine, try not to worry.

  • Oh Katie I hate that you are feeling that way!

I didnt feel movement until the end of the 19th week, and then not for the second time until mid week 20.  Dont let that freak you out, it is still early.

As far as the veggies go, that cannot make you lose your baby.  When you are feeling up to it, try to eat another serving... if you dont feel like it, then there is still plenty of time in the months ahead to get more in.

You will see your beautiful bean on Wed.

  • I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I am also terrified about my big u/s which is coming up. I'm hoping for the best but a part of me is expecting the worst as much as I hate to even admit it. As far as movement I have felt some but its very inconsistent. I know a lot of women don't feel anything until after 20 weeks. I truly suck at eating right! I do not eat enough fruits and vegetables at all. I always intend to but it doesn't usually work out that way. I know several people who did not take care of themselves at all during pregnancy and had healthy babies. Everyone I know that's had a mc including myself and most people on this board are the ones who tried to take care of themselves. I think its just one of those things that we have little control over and all we can do is try our best so don't be so hard on yourself:). I know its hard not to worry but I'm sure your lo is doing just fine!
  • It is still really early too feel movement.  The general range is 18-22 weeks.  I didn't feel the first flutters/bubbles until 21.5 weeks.  I am sure everything is perfect with your LO. On Wed you will get to see your baby moving and you will be thrilled to tears I am sure!

  • Oh honey, huge hugs to you!!!  With dd I didn't feel any movement until at least week 19.  And veggies?  PISH POSH!  I lived off lemondae and raspberry sherbert with her.  Guess what? She is 11 years old, almost 5'4" and smart as a whip.  Stop worrying!

And for goodness sakes stay off Google.  It is NOT your friend.

You are fine, baby is wonderful and in a few days you'll find out if it's a boy or a girl.  Do I need to make a trip down there to help you through this?  Cause it would be rough, but I could manage to go to Mexico if needed....

  • Huge hugs & prayers Katie.

I hate that you are worrying so~~~

Know you and your little jumping bean are So loved!!

  • ((big hugs)) for you! I am so sorry. I hate when worries get in my head and I can't shake them. Just remember that your ultrasound on Wednesday is going to be great and think about how great it will be to see your LO.

I heard an inspirational speaker talk, and one of her tips was "Run the movie". She meant to visualize the end point, what you are looking forward. So visualize holding your LO in your arms. Visualize your awesome u/s. You can do it. You WILL do it.

  • Katie -

I didn't have any movement that I could feel until 20 weeks... and now she is apparently taking tap lessons in there.  My doctor said to not be alarmed until week 22 if no movement identified.

Lots of things factor in... and you should not worry.  I totally understand where you are coming from... I cried at my 18 week appointment because I couldn't feel her... just know that it is normal and that all is well...

  • **breathe in and out**

If it makes you feel any better I didnt have movement until a few weeks ago.. apparently when you have the placenta in the front it can take longer to feel it.  I know it is easier said than done but try not to worry too much.. and keep in mind worrying is part of motherhood.  We will always be worrying about some part of the parenting process.

  • Ohhh Katie, you're gonna be fine. I barely felt anything at all before my big u/s and even now it's sporadic..you're gonna be just fine! My OB said not to even expect it before 18 weeks, so I'm sure it's all good!

and  PS: STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE!!!!!!!

  • OMG Katie, do NOT worry about not feeling movement yet.  I didn't feel DD at all until 22 weeks and everything was perfect.  I know it'll be reassuring when you can feel him/her, but hang in there, girl, it'll happen!!

  • 17 weeks is really early for movement.  You're LO is doing fine and you'll know it soon.  Step away from google!  Good luck on Wed!  Take deep breaths!
  • Please don't worry about not feeling movement- it's still too early and many don't feel the baby until way later anyway.  I'm sure your baby is fine and soon you'll be able to see it in the big u/s!  ((BIG HUGS))
