Bumbo - Love it or hate it {clicky}

I've been told that a Bumbo is one of the best things I can get for my kid to help him sit up and develop his neck and back muscles...Mommies that have them, love it or hate it?[Poll]

I love it, but I sometimes feel bad putting DS in it. Does anyone with a chubby baby feel that your LO's legs are to big for it?? Maybe it's just me.

I chose indifferent. DD seems to love it some days and hates it others. Either way she won't spend more than 10 minutes in it.

Maybe he just needs to get older, but DS doesn't love or hate his. He tolerates it for a few minutes.

DD hates it so far. She gets a look on her face like WTF are you doing to me Mom? I put her in it for 10 seconds before we're done.

I don't love or hate it. Our bumbo lives on the kitchen counter (in the center of a large island counter). I put DS in it for maybe 15 minutes tops here and there. Like in the a.m. when I'm getting my lunch ready/making bottles/etc. He seems to really like it b/c he's now reaching for everything on the counter that's within his reach - not good!!!

DS loves it, but almost always spits up if we put him in it within 30 minutes of eating. It's like it puts him in a funny position.

Well, I got one, Basil liked it.. But I got it when she was three months, and now have stopped using it because she can sit up on her own, and can throw herself out of it. Now, whether or not the bumbo is the thing that caused her to be able to sit on her own so early, I have no idea....

DD hates it. She stiffens up and bucks out of it as soon as I try to put her in it. I thought it would be a lot easier to feed her in it, but that is a no go.

We used it twice. DS hated it, and had great neck control before we ever put him in it anyway. His CDs made it virtually impossible anyway, so we have to put him in 'sposies just to attempt to use the stupid thing.

Luckily ours was just on loan to us from SIL, so we didn't waste $40+. I would have been pissed if I had spent that much on something so worthless to us. I can see it might work for others, but I'd never pay full price for one.

I only put my son in it when I need two hands to either mix a bottle or prepare a meal, etc. He actually likes sitting in it more and more each day, but will only tolerate about 2-3 minutes worth. I also have a tray for mine that I'll use when he starts sitting up a bit better and playing with toys, eating snack-type foods, etc.

I know exactly what you mean! When I pick him up the whole bumbo comes with him!

Don't like it. DS seems uncomfortable and straightens his legs and back and trues to throw himself out of it. He really just looks confused by it, more than anything - not happy and playing.

i picked 'other' because i got the summer 3-in-1 infant seat. the tray and toys come off, so it's bumbo-esque. she likes it a lot.

DS doesnt sit in it for long -- gets fussy. though the stints are becoming a little longer as time goes by. altho he sits in it briefly, it does help. the other day i used it while i washed some dishes real quick. my LO is high maintenance... ;p

I think it's great...he has other opinions on it...he mostly likes to try to flip himself backwards out of it.

DS can only stand it for 2 minutes then he wants out. He is able to sit up on his own and maybe that is what ticks him off about the bumbo.

Indifferent. We haven't used it a lot since LO is still wobbly sometimes, but we have used it when we Skype with my parents. We set her up in the Bebe Pod (we don't have a Bumbo) on the dining room table and put the laptop in front of her so they can see her (and she can maybe see them hah). When I've tried to put her in it other times, she tires of it very quickly.
