I swallowed my new filling :( (mini vent)

While getting my wisdom teeth pulled (almost 5 years ago) a hole was knocked into my back tooth. I had it filled back then and forgot about it. About a month ago the filling fell out and I swallowed it. I had it filled last week with a 'temporary' filling since they didn't want to do anything too harsh while pregnant. I just realized, while eating, that it fell out and I swallowed it again!!! Now I have to go through the holidays with a hole in my back tooth. Sad So frustrating!

I don't think it will be harmful to LO since they are the new fillings, not the old silver mercury fillings.

    I have amalgam fillings.  My dad is my dentist and stays up on safety issues of various dental procedures etc. and isn't concerned with the safety of amalgam fillings.

    Thanks for posting this so I know I am not alone. I had a temp fill put in around July and noticed last month that it has dwindled down quite a bit and not much is left of it- so obviously I have been swallowing it!! My dentist cant get me in to get it fixed until next year so I too am stuck with a hole in my back molar :(
