DH just read the information for Henry's 529 plan, which estimates that the average cost of a 4-year public college in 2028 will be $214,000. And a private college will be $410,000.
Holy effing crap.
"For a long time there were only your footprints & laughter in our dreams & even from such small things, we knew we could not wait to love you forever."
This is the reason that I'm glad DH works at a college. We get free tuition at that college and they have a tuition exchange with other colleges/universities. His pay sucks but the free tuition will make up for it!
We still plan on saving as much as we can "just in case"!
The Florida Prepaid College plan... You get locked in at todays est cost of attending a 4 yr in state institution, and you make payments split up until age of 18. The catch is, LO has to stay in state, which is fine with me b/c Fl has many great Universities. This is funded partially by our state lottery along with scholarships.

knowing my luck, i'd do something like this (if available in tennessee) and LO would decide he wants to go to ole miss. ugh.

In FL you can either do a 529 or:
