My sister is so sweet!

My sister just sent the whole family an email letting us know that instead of gifts, she's made a big donation to Toys for Tots. I think that's so wonderful. Really, none of us "need" anything or really even have any big wants. It's nice to know that kids who don't have 3 storage boxes full of toys will get something wonderful for Christmas.

    you have a sister?  huh.  For some reason I thought you were an only child. 

    That is a very nice idea.  I was thinking about doing a Blue Santa gift, but by the time I got to the tree, the only thing up there were the tags for kids who wanted Wii games and laptops (!).  So I'll just buy some random toys and take those instead.  That was super nice of your sister.

    HAHAHA!  Ok, for all this time that you've had your "I heart Tots" avatar, I thought you meant like kids/tots.  But I finally saw there are tater tots in the heart!  How funny!

    I sort of am. I'm my Dad's only "real" child. But I was my Mother's 3rd baby when she was 19 and there was another born after me. My dad got custody of me when I was 3 and she checked out for the next 20something years (which is understandable considering her age and other factors I know of).  She called me about 4 years ago and I really haven't made the effort to catch up. My dad is remarried and the sister I refer to is my step-sister but I love her dearly and feel no need to make the distinction when speaking of her =) Her mother, my step-mother on the other hand...

    well, that is awesome to have such a good bond with her.  I don't know what I'd do without my sister.  I didn't mean that I thought she was a "step", I seriously thought you had no brothers or sisters of any type!  I don't know why I ever thought that though...
