Ok ladies, I need some help!

I'm a week late. I took a cheap test yesterday around noon & I don't see a positive though but I don't see a dark negative line either (?). Should I get a better test? Test in the morning? Wait a few days & test again since maybe my HCG levels are low? Any ideas? I'm just afraid something could be wrong since I've had a miscarriage before... thats part of why I don't want anyone to even know I suspect I'm pregnant until I'm far along! We haven't been trying but haven't been using protection, we want babies close together so yes I could (and want to) be pregnant!! Also, I show no signs of getting my period (bloating & all that good stuff that I usually get)... TIA!

    Do you know when you O'ed? You could have O'ed late, thus making your period later than normal.

    Well, "a week late" is tough to judge if you've not been charting. You might have just ovulated late.

    Plus, there's no 'negative' line on a HPT, just a "control" line, and how dark it is doesn't mean anything. Now, if you got even a faint test line, you're pregnant. Congratulations.

    If you're not sure, test again in the morning. If you still get a negative, test once a week until you get a postive or you get your period. If 60 days pass with no period, call your doctor.

    I don't understand what you mean.  What brand test are you using?  Are you looking for a plus sign or something?  Is it that kind of test?

    I was thinking the same thing... a negative line on a HPT, never seen that before.

    I think you mean the control line. You're supposed to have a control line. If there was not a second line then its a BFN, if you got even a faint second line then its a BFP. 

    Test once a week until you get AF or are on CD 60 then call your Doc. GL

    I have been charting so I know when I ovulated. This was a cheap store brand.. it has a control line that is in a separate window.. theres a negative line & the other line makes it a plus sign. Usually the negative line is dark but this time it was light. I swear I saw a faint positive line but it went away a few hours later when I tried to show DH. Now DH is telling me to get a more expensive tests with words instead of lines-he wants to know for sure!! With DD I tested  & had the faint line but it at least stayed on there!

     Its all a waiting game I guess!

    Hello, fellow NCinian! I think the other girls covered with pretty well.  Keep testing every week or so until you get a positive or your period comes.  If you still don't have an answer 60 days after your last period started, call your doctor.  Best of luck to you!

    Good to know you're charting. That definitely makes a difference. I think most of those type tests are blue dye, right? I hear they're less reliable. Go get a pink dye test and test again tomorrow moring. Good luck.

    Oh, I've heard of this before!  It's called a "disappearing positive", or at least that's what https://www.peeonastick.com calls them.  Get thee to the store and pick up a pink dye test that displays either one line or two parallel lines.  GL!

    I would say if you are charting and you know you are one week late (i.e. you are around 21dpo) you should call your doctor and ask for a blood test.

    Sounds like it might be a BFP, you can't trust what a test says after the time limit is gone. Usually thats a few minute. So in a few hours it would definitely not be within the time frame. 

    Def. get a digital and re test with FMU. GL!
