I have been sending DS to daycare for a few hours a day while I'm on maternity leave.  There are lots of reasons. but one of them is that he has had really rough drop-offs and a difficult couple of days when he's transitioned back after being home with us on vacation for a week.

Last night he started coughing.  Should I take him or keep him home?  He isn't going wed, thurs, and fri.  If I was working, I would take him.  But since I'm not, do I expose the other kids to his cold?  I honestly don't want the baby catching it either.  WWYD?

    If it is just a cough send him to daycare and give yourself a break.

     

    FWIW when #2 arrives in my house DD will continue daycare just like before.

    I don't think a cough is a big deal. As long as he doesn't have any other cold symptoms, I would take him.

    If it's just a cough, I'd take him too.  FWIW, my ds has been going to daycare since I've been on early maternity leave.  It allows me to get things done and rest/relax something hard to do being 35+ weeks pregnant with a toddler.
