Drying baby clothes Edit: Now with PIP!

Do you just dry them on normal heat? I guess I'm worried about the NB sizes shrinking. Also, I got a receiving blanket that is quite tube-like, what the heck is this? image

  • I dry all my clothes on low. I am very confused about the tube blanket though! Describe it...
  • Loading the player...
  • Is it like a swaddle blanket or something?
  • I washed everything on delicate and dried it all on low, just in case!

Well, it's that waffle type of fabric, only a little more meshy, and about the same size as a receiving blanket, only you can open it up like a tube! I don't know what the heck to do with it! It's from my grandma, so she probably wouldn't know either. Maybe it's just a double layer blanket?

I'll try to be patient while waiting to see this waffle

  • I do everything that others on here don't...

    I use Dreft

    Wash on warm

    Dry on cotton setting (high)

occasionally use a dryer sheet (mostly with blankets... that static is crazy!)

I don't (or, more accurately, won't) have time for delicate washes and low heat... I wanna get that wash done, folded and put away asap!!

  • Every tag seems to read and standard for baby clothing seems to be "Tumble dry low" so, that what I've been doing. I haven't noticed anything shrinking, NB or otherwise.

If you are concerned about the blanket you could always hang it to dry. I have no idea what it actually IS though.

  • The blanket looks like a sling to me
  • Wish I could help, but I haven't the foggiest idea what that blanket is for.

Well, at least I'm not the only one.

  • are you sure it's not some sort of sling? it looks a lot like on that i got at my shower.
  • It looks like a sling/baby carrying device to me.

DH does the laundry, but we wash all of our clothes together and on the same settings. I'll find out the hard way if something shrinks.

  • Looks like some sort of sling / wrap thing to hold the baby in.

Agreed with PP, looks like a sling to me.

As for the clothes, I washed DS1 and this LO's clothes with Free and Clear (DS1 and I are allergic to fragrances and what-not) then dried in the dryer as usual.

More importantly, is there a squirrel sticking out of the stocking behind your DH?

It's not a squirrel, it's peacock feathers! They are there because my cat kept knocking them out of the tree. That gave me a good LOL though! Okay, so what do I use this sling for? Is it like a baby wearing thing? Is it to hold my ever growing breasts? Is it worn like a turban?

  • here are some instructions on the hotsling website...instructions should be pretty general even though you don't have a hotsling
  • imageStarAnnice:

LOL It's a baby wearing thing...like a carrier.  I don't remember slings being around when I had DS1, we just had the front carrier thing and he hated it.  I'm going to try a sling with this one...but I'm not a baby wearer...it's just for convenience and hands-free stuff.  LOL at your other ideas though!

Now...why did you have peacock feathers in your Christmas tree?  Was it a real tree that a peacock had nested in?

Our tree is purple, with plum, gold and green ornaments. The peacock feathers make sense when you see it!

  • I vote turban!  And I'm going to have to

  • Do you have a pic of your tree?  The colors (and feathers) sound interesting.....
