I've gotten 2 massages in my life and they bug me. I'm not really a prude, but I guess I just don't like strangers touching me. Same for facials. I couldn't relax at all. I always wonder if other people feel the same when I see recommendations for spa GC's. I'd be all skeeved out if I got another one.
Re: Am I the only one who doesn't like massages?
I fall asleep on the table. Every time. I'm a non-talking variety of massage receiver.
ive had 3 massages, 1 facial and a pedicure
all of which i did not enjoy so much. like you said, i dont like people rubbing me unless they are my husband.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

My IF blog
I love them but am particular about the amount of pressure. I don't like deep tissue massages, I'm a wuss. But I always feel amazing after.
For pp's who mentioned not knowing what to talk about and issues with someone touching you - you don't have to talk. I never do, otherwise I wouldn't be able to relax. And you're always covered with a towel. The only part exposed is whatever part they're working on. So if you have an issue with a part of your body, you can tell them to stay away from it.

LMAO at the thought of actually talking during a massage. How unrelaxing- do people actually do that and why???
I have no body issues and no stranger issues, especially when I'm paying them. Most don't do it hard enough so I tell them ahead of time I like a strong massage. I don't do facials- don't need them and have the kind of skin that wouldn't look normal afterward if someone picked at me.
My mum never liked massages- anyone- including my dad touching her in that way. . I always thought that was bizarre. Her perception of massage was of pain.
Um, FREAK!
Ahhh what I wouldn't do right now for ALL OF THE ABOVE!
Massage...facial....pedicure.....
