Daycare Center Vent

We have been at the same center for almost 17 months now and love it. Love all of his teachers and the directors have been great. The head director is pregnant and due on Christmas. She planned on working till the baby came. Then she planned on coming back after maternity, at least that is what she led us to believe.
About two days ago, I noticed a new person in the office and thought that maybe our director had the baby. No announcement or anything though....
Then yesterday I find a letter in my DSs bag signed by a district manager who I have never heard of that states that effective today there is a complete change in management. Then she wished L- and L- well.
Both the director and assistant director are gone for good with no warning or explanation. I asked one of the teachers and they basically repeated the letter like I am sure she was instructed to. I understand not wanting to get parents involved in any type of drama but we do pay their bills. Half of my paycheck goes to these people. They take care of my son. I get to know them. I buy them Christmas presents. I really think that we deserve warning or explanations. KWIM?

I feel that they should make some effort to introduce you to the new people and make you comfortable w/ them, they don't owe you an explanation as to why the others are gone. Really, they don't. In the end, it is a business and they have to make business related decisions that dont' ahve anything to do w/ you.
I get your connection to these poeple, and I do understand why you're upset that they are just gone. But they don't owe you anything past that.

Yeah, I know they don't owe me the details but maybe a "we regret to inform you" or "we are sorry to announce" in the letter would have been nice. It was just worded in my opinion, really unprofessionally. And maybe when we show up in the morning, the new person should have been greeting the parents and introducing herself.
And if they knew in advance that this was going to happen, why not tell the parents in advance? If they didn't know in advance, what in the world is going on behind the scenes to make two people leave at the drop of a hat?
Yes, this is a business but it is a daycare that I am supposed to put my trust in, not a McDonalds or a car dealership. The hush-hush and rash nature of it all to me makes me suspicious and less trusting.
Totally a possibility but it was both the director and assistant director at the same time. Very odd to me.
personally, i think you should dig deeper
your LO is in this center. what if they did something really wrong? you have every right to know! and if it is so hush-hush, tell them it is making you feel uncomfortable and worried, and you are possibly thinking of taking your LO and your paycheck to a center who wont keep you in the dark.

Not to sound paranoid, but I agree. Maybe they did both quit for personal reasons, but it shouldn't be too hard for the dc to say that. They don't need to get too detailed, but I would expect some explanation. Our center is very, very into communication so it would totally weird me out if several people were fired and we never heard anything about it. I think it is really reasonable to want to know at least some explanation.
At the risk of sounding like a bandwagon-jumper, ITA.
You deserve to know at least a summary of what happened.
