I don't know if you can have soy or not, but I use the soy cheese and when melted it tastes okay. I also use rice milk (or almond milk) in cereal but not by itself (once again the flavor is a little strange). Also, when I make my mashed potatoes I use original flavor coffee mate instead of milk. It really makes them creamy and tastes really good. There are a lot of options out there, but it's never the same as cows milk.
Oh, I forgot to mention that a lot of people that have trouble with cows milk can use goat milk products. I am just guessing that the dairy is bothering the baby? Goat milk doesn't seem to bother my little girl so you may try that as well. Once again though, it tastes a little strange.
She is also soy free as well as dairy. I have made MANY things from her blog and they are great. We were dairy/soy free for about 9 months. I slowly introduced things back in my diet. I can eat them and still breastfeed DS, but he can't have yogurt or whole milk yet. He can have a small amount of cheese though.
