Joining the bedrest crew

I went to L&D monday for contractions after I got dehydrated from a nasty GI bug. Got 5 liters of fluid, zofran and phenergan, and procardia for the contractions. Was admitted for a 23 hour observation. Fetal fibronectin negative, not dilated.

Wound up going back last night for contractions that were even greater in frequency and intensity. Got terbutaline and procardia, and am "barely a fingertip" dilated.

I had 3 more shifts left to work, but I'm not going to be working them now! I'm taking procardia every 6 hours and am on bedrest for the time being. Hoping to keep these kids in for a few more weeks!

  • that sucks- but you do what you gotta do!

I was put on bedrest at 30w with my singleton - i was a fingertip dilated... i held him in for another 6w (probably could have gone more- but i had BP issues and kidney stones so they induced).  I was also on procardia - it sucks.

prayers that you can entertain yourself (thank God for computers!) and hold them in longer!

  • I'm on bedrest, too.  I wish I were farther along, all I can do is worry about getting my boys to a point they can survive.  But I'll be here everyday!  Welcome (unfortunately)!

  • GL.  I went to the hospital at 32w4d, contrax 2-3 minutes apart.  I was 50% effaced and 2cm dilated.  I'd been on Procardia since 28w and we increased the dosage after that.  I was released 5 days later and was on BR until 36w.  From 36w on I didn't restrict my activity at all and still held onto them until my scheduled c/s at 38w (I'd made little to no progress from when I was admitted for PTL until my c/s).
  • That sucks but I am glad all is OK.  And we'll keep you company.  ;)

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
